Active Ingredients:

Each mL contains:
Dexpanthenol 250 mg 
Benzyl Alcohol 1% w/v
Water q.s.
pH adjusted with acetic acid

Note:

The sterility of the product conforms to U.S.P. membrane testing methods.

Indications:

For use in intestinal atony, distention, postoperative retention of flatus and feces, paralytic ileus and prophylaxis after abdominal surgery, or trauma resulting in internal injuries, equine colic and any other condition in which there is an impairment of smooth muscle function.

Dosage and Administration:

Dogs and Cats: 25 mg per 5 lbs. (11 mg/kg) of body weight intramuscularly. May be repeated in two (2) hours after the initial injection and followed every six (6) to eight (8) hours until the condition is alleviated. The time interval and duration of therapy will depend upon the degree of severity that the animal is exhibiting from the clinical standpoint.

Horses: Initial dose 10 mL intravenously or intramuscularly and repeated every four (4) to six (6) hours until adverse clinical signs have been terminated. The intestinal inhibition elicited by certain parasympatholytic drugs (such as atropine) and adrenergic stimulants (such as adrenaline) is not antagonized. Dexpanthenol does not have a detectable effect on blood coagulation.

Contraindications:

In therapy of colic resulting from the administration of cholinergic type anthelmintics.

Cautions:

Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.

KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

Precautions:

Following the administration of succinylcholine chloride, a one-hour waiting period is advisable before initiation of dexpanthenol therapy.
